In August we joined a 2 week trip organized by Phil Sammet aboard the Nautalus Explorer. We went from Juneau, Alaska down to Prince Rupert, BC.

Before boarding the boat, Mary and I joined Phil and Kim for a helicopter tour of the Mendenhal Glacier.

The next day several of us hiked to the same glacier. The braver ones descended into an ice cave.

From the boat we hiked to a salmon stream and snorkeled with the salmon. The salmon were thick as can be. When the brown bears came around, we discretely exited the stream on the other side.

We watched a glacier calving and then snorkeled among the icebergs.

Mary went fishing and helped feed us all. The whales helped attract the salmon.

And the diving was wonderful!!

Nudibranchs were abundant, varied and beautiful.
