In June Mary and I took Heather on a high school graduation trip to Palau.
We were joined by good friends and very advanced divers Doug Johnston, Karen Uyeda and Barbara Davis.
Together we filled the liveaboard "Ocean Hunter".

We had a great time in the hands of the captain Kenneth and the dive master Troy along
with the cook Arlee (not pictured).

I really like Nudibranchs and there were several kinds.
And flatworms as well.
The kinds of fish you would expect to see.
But what I didn't expect were "leaf" fish.
I wasn't the only one taking pictures.

Speaking of Mary, don't ever tell her there are no octopus around.
We made a trip to "Jellyfish Lake where a separate evolution has occured.
1 jelly
1000's of jellies
The only preditor of these jellies.
The islands were rugged and beautiful.
Undercut by the sea
And full of caves
Both above and below
There were crinoids
The soft coral were beautiful
This one with tiny brittle stars
And worms, shrimp
And other interesting invertebrates
Yes, there were sharks and rays. My first time seeing a manta.
And, of course relics from world war II.
